Who is responsible

Ses is operated independently by Dajue Qiu, an individual in Sweden, who is the data controller. For privacy requests, email support@vises.date. Ses is not affiliated with KTH, SSE, KI or Stockholm University.

Information we use

Account and eligibility: your university email address, Supabase account ID, university, date of birth, email confirmation time, student and age attestations, acceptance timestamps, account status and last activity. Email confirmation proves control of an address, not current enrolment, identity or background.

Profile and preferences: first name, age derived from date of birth, programme, graduation year, self-described gender, dating intention, biography, interests, photos, selected Stockholm municipality, and age, gender, university and municipality filters. Dating choices can reveal sensitive information about you.

Interactions and safety: likes, passes, matches, messages and read times, event list/attendance choices, blocks, reports, report details and moderation decisions. We may review relevant profile, message and account information to investigate a report. Reports are not shown to the reported member.

Technical data: authentication sessions, an optional device push token if notifications are enabled, limited first-party product events linked to your account, and service logs such as IP address, request time and errors kept by our providers. Product event records do not contain message text, email or date of birth.

Why we use it

We use account, profile and interaction data to provide the features you request and administer your account (contract). We use reports, blocks, moderation records, abuse limits and limited service analytics to protect members and maintain the service (legitimate interests). We process data where required by law. You choose what profile content to add, but the app requires some information to create a usable dating profile.

Gender and dating preferences may imply sexual orientation or other sensitive characteristics. Ses uses them only for matching and filtering. Onboarding asks you to agree to using these choices for matching. You can change your preferences, delete your account or contact support with a request to stop this processing.

Who can see it

Other eligible members can see your visible profile, photos and age. Members you like may see your profile in Likes if both accounts remain eligible. Matches can see each other’s messages; passes are private. A block or unmatch closes that connection. Your exact birth date, university email and private event choices are not shown to other members.

Authorised moderation access is limited to safety work and audited in the database. The operator may access support messages and the information needed to resolve a request. We do not sell member data or use advertising trackers.

Service providers and international access

Supabase provides EU-region authentication, PostgreSQL, private photo storage, realtime messaging and Edge Functions (the project is in eu-west-1, Ireland). Resend processes transactional authentication email sent from auth.vises.date. Cloudflare provides the public website, DNS and support-email forwarding. The designated Gmail inbox receives support requests. These providers may process technical delivery and security data under their own infrastructure, subprocessor and retention terms. Links to event organisers, Apple Maps or Calendar are opened only when you choose them and then follow those services’ practices.

Retention and deletion

We keep account, profile, photos, preferences and social data while the account exists. In the app, go to Settings → Delete account to request permanent deletion. Access is closed immediately; a worker retries if storage or account removal fails. The deletion process removes your login, stored photos, profile, preferences, likes, matches and messages. Reports about your deleted account are removed; reports you submitted may remain with your reporter ID removed, and any personal information written in report details may still be present for safety review.

Closed reports are removed after 12 months; first-party product event records after 12 months. Pending safety matters remain until resolved. Provider logs and backups can persist for the provider’s own recovery and security periods. Contact us if a deletion appears incomplete.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile and preferences, pause discovery, block members and delete your account in the app. You may ask for access, correction, a copy, erasure, restriction or objection where applicable by emailing support@vises.date. We may need to verify your identity before releasing private information. You can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Children, security and changes

Ses is for adults aged 18 or over. If you believe a minor has an account, report it immediately. We use authenticated access and server-side rules to limit who can read or change data; no online service can guarantee absolute security. We will update this page when practices materially change and publish a new date.
